We are excited to announce the launch of our new Refugee ESL program. Open to all refugees and immigrants, our beginner Refugee ESL class was created to teach everyday use of the English language. Many refugees are resettle to Kansas City, Kansas from countries such as Syria, Ethiopia, Uganda, and others. This program will help them improve the livelihood for their families through their improvement of the English language.
Similar to Latino ESL, Refugee ESL is conversation based, relational, and practical. Using conversation, imagery, and the total physical response (TPR) method, students will learn how to effectively communicate in English at a basic conversational level. Classes will be held on Monday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm here at Mission Adelante.
With this new program comes the need for a set of volunteers to help us teach English to the students. If you have a heart for helping refugees in our community, please sign-up by clicking below!
