Collaborative Initiatives
KC Emerging Leaders
Mission Adelante partners with other urban ministries, including Hope Center and Freedom Fire, to develop young leaders from within our community. This collaborative effort allows for exposure to a variety of ministry contexts and input from different leaders.
KC CCDA Network
The Christian Community Development Association has provided invaluable training and ongoing connections for Mission Adelante on topics related to ministry in under-resourced areas. Mission Adelante participates in the local CCDA Network to deepen relationships with other local urban ministries.
I Was a stranger KC
In Matthew 25, Jesus said, “I was a stranger and you welcomed me in.” God has a special heart for immigrants. The I Was a Stranger KC coalition works to educate partners on topics related to immigration and advocate for compassionate public policies that impact immigrants and refugees.
The Toolbox
The Toolbox is the go-to resource for everything small business in Wyandotte County, Kansas. All of our services are offered at no-cost to local residents and businesses. This collaborative initiative incorporated as its own entity in 2021. Mission Adelante participates on its board of directors and serves as a fiscal sponsor.
Welcoming KC
Welcoming KC is a collaborative project of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce that brings together organizations from across government, business and nonprofit sectors to create a more welcoming and inclusive city for immigrants and refugees. Mission Adelante has been part of this effort since its inception in 2019.
Adelante Thrift
Adelante Thrift is an amazing neighborhood thrift store and a sustainable community development project. Our store provides a great shopping experience for our community, creates jobs, and generates proceeds that support the ministry of Mission Adelante. Come shop, volunteer, or donate!
