In this week's Adelante Express we have the opportunity to hear from one of our students, Delia Mijares, who initially came to Mission Adelante in the hopes to learn English, but also found it to be a place where she and her family could get other help and flourish as well. A place where she has been able to connect with people from different parts of the world and form friendships.
"I wanted to share my experience, and most of all, my "thanks" to Mission Adelante.
I found Mission Adelante while I was looking for information on the internet, and I came to this place with the intention to learn English. When I entered their page I could see that in addition to the English classes they also have other very important activities.
Being here allows me to connect with people who speak different languages and come from different cultures. A special bond and connection is achieved, but most of all friendships are formed. During the time in my English class I have learned new things that help me in this country and with my family. I can say with absolute freedom that Mission Adelante is a place open to the service of the community. I am infinitely grateful to all its staff and to each volunteer who contribute their time and dedication to leave a mark on everyone who arrives here. But most of all, I thank God for allowing Mission Adelante to continue to keep its doors open.
